Obey
No, you don't have to be rich off of Daddy's money or sell us your first born child to get in. First and foremost is friendship, then its the rides.

Backyard Kustoms Car Club Bylaws

  • Backyard Kustoms (BYK) welcomes vehicles of all shapes and sizes into the club. We are not restricted to a certain make, model, height or size. This club was created to be an organized group of all those who love their rides and want to show them off.
  • Membership into BYK requires at least one custom or show-worthy vehicle. Whether or not this is met will be decided by a consideration of all founders. Exceptions may be made for long-time members who have had to change vehicles for whatever reason.
  • Customization will be defined as having at least three major modifications. Tint is not a major modification. Qualification will be determined by the founders.
  • Buying a members vehicle does not gaurentee membership. In fact, unless the vehicle is altered after purchase the membership will be denied.
  • Membership begins when dues of $35 are paid to the founders.
  • Prospecting members may sit in at as many open meetings as they want before joining dues are paid.
  • Upon the payment of dues, members will be offered one free grey Backyard Kustoms shirt in any size. Additional shirts can be ordered.
  • New members will be in a probation period where they will receive their BYK Prospect sticker. In order to become a full member, prospects must attend three meetings and one event. After, the founders will decide if the conditions for membership have been met.
  • Backyard Kustoms stickers will be ordered through either the Founders or Secretary. Stickers will be produced by JimTrim. All stickers will be uniform in size and cut in silver. Placement will be in the center of the back glass unless special circumstances prevent it.
  • The Backyard Kustoms sticker is property of Backyard Kustoms and not of the individual members. Stickers may be pulled if the full body of the club decides it to be necessary. Such occurances will be done only as a last resort.
  • There will be monthly meetings that all members must attend. Dates will be posted on the Meetings Page and the Founders will call all members a week or so ahead. Most of these will be open to any wishing to join. Meetings will be held at 8pm on the second Friday unless otherwise stated.
  • Meetings missed without reason (i.e. work, class, vacation, etc.) will be counted as a strike. These meetings are necessary to the continued life of the club and at three strikes you will be asked to either repay your joining dues or have your sticker removed. Strikes will be removed each year.
  • There will be no illegal activities during the meetings, wherever they may be held. Anytime BYK is coming together as a group we want to avoid any unwanted scars on our reputation. If we police ourselves then the police won't have to. This includes burnouts.
  • NO DRAMA.

These bylaws may be subject to change. Last updated 4.2.2010

Sticker Pulling

Times when the removal of a sticker may be necessary include but are not limited to;

  • Bringing unwanted and unlawful attention to the club either in a vehicle sporting the BYK sticker or in a BYK shirt
  • Starting or being involved in fights with other members of the club
  • Complete disrespect shown to the club and its members
  • Complete disrespect shown towards police which may reflect badly on BYK as a whole
  • Three stikes gathered through a refusal to appear at meetings. This is not only a loss of the sticker but of the Membership.

Stickers will only be removed after a meeting of the Founders first and then possibly a meeting or discussion with all the members not including the member whose sticker is on the line. If a sticker is pulled, there will be a $25 penalty charge for replacing the sticker if membership becomes reinstated. Loss of the sticker does not necessarily mean loss of membership. Loss of membership will be voted on seperatly if the temporary loss of the sticker is not enough to ensure a continued good behavior.
